Qigong Fundamentals Workshop
Sebastopol, CA, September 3, 2022
Join us for this One Day Journey into the embodied wisdom of Daoist Wellness Qigong.
These practices help us access greater vitality and energy, experience deeper focus and relaxation while improving strength, flexibility and balance.
Qigong is ancient medicine in action.. a Union of Body, Breath and Spirit into harmonious flow state. Often translated as “Energy Work”, Qigong is a broad term used to describe many different movement and meditation practices. In this all-levels workshop we will explore both foundational theory and practices to empower you with tools, resources and knowledge to help level up your health and wellness!
In addition to some practical Daoist philosophy and fundamental Chinese Medicine theory, we will be practicing two gentle Qigong sequences which are both easy to learn and rich with depth. By breathing, stretching and flowing through these movements we will explore the embodied alchemy of breath, posture and meditation.
Qigong is a powerful set of practices for moving through blockages in the body, mind and emotions. We learn how to release habitual patterns of held tension and move our body with greater ease, efficiency and increased range of motion. The acupuncture meridians are accessed, squeezing out stress, tension and trauma from our cells, tissues and internal organs. Side effects may include activated energy, feelings of joy and boosted immune function.
This workshop is for anyone interested in health and wellness, meditation, movement, martial arts, yoga and functional fitness, and it is suitable for all levels from total beginners to advanced practitioners. It is designed to help develop a foundation for your practice, to make the movement of Qi a fully tangible experience and to increase the healthy circulation of this life force energy in and around you.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please email ShentaraWellness@gmail.com or click here to sign up. Workshop is offered by sliding scale $55-$144.
